Caveys, or Guinea pigs, sure are playful pets! But they are also a handful. Guinea pigs need to be fed 2 or 3 times a day and they need lots of supplies which include:
- A good sized cage
- guinea pig food
- fruits and veggies
- a small plastic igloo ( guinea pigs need their privacy too)
- bedding
- Timothy Hay
- food bowl
- water bottle
- toys
Guinea pigs need their cage cleaned about 2 or 3 times a week. You should also try to give your guinea pig a bath to keep them clean. Here are the supplies
- A sink
- baby shampoo ( just in case it gets in their eyes, it wont sting)
- make sure the water isn't too hot or too cold
Guinea pigs do well with other guinea pigs and they may need a play mate because they might get lonely. Play with guinea pigs at least twice a day so they can get some exercise and so that you show them that you love them.
